We had been working with Sue Lewis Chocolatier for approximately 8 years and had previously developed two sets of environmentally friendly chocolate packaging for them made from 100% pure pulp.
When Sue Lewis was searching for a more sustainable solution, with a good existing knowledge of their branding, we decided to develop eco-friendly cardboard lid & bottom boxes to suit their chocolate creations. The eco friendly chocolate boxes were made from paper from Crush agro-industrial waste which reuses by-products from fruits, nuts and other produce including 15% coffee residue. These by-products are saved from landfill and used to create tactile and luxury packaging. Using agro-industrial waste also reduces the amount of virgin pulp used and therefore the amount of trees that are needed to be cut down.
The crush agro-industrial waste paper packaging is also FSC certified, GMO free, contains 30% post-consumer recycled waste and is produced with 100% green energy. The box is even completely recyclable. Utilising agro-industrial waste such as coffee residue presents a fascinating packaging product to their customers and displays their sustainable ethos.
For the design of the boxes we used copper foil stamping to keep the text subtle with matching ribbons to present the chocolates as luxurious.
We, as one of bespoke packaging suppliers, are also developing new seasonal paper packaging products for them made from cherry and kiwi residue.

Only using the finest organic, plant based and whole food ingredients in their chocolate making, Loco Love is a chocolatier dedicated to creating decadent and indulgent experiences to their customers. That’s why they chose us to create sustainable custom packaging for their chocolate creations.
We sourced sustainable materials, made recommendation on chocolate boxes structure and design based on manufacturing practices, and were responsible for the production and quality management of the boxes.
The orange rigid box created was for their special limited edition products, we sourced sustainable Free Life Vellum paper made with 55% pure certified FSC ® fibres, 40% recycled fibres and 5% cotton fibres.
We created double edges inside the drawer as a highlight to add a unique look to the box. The gold foil stamping seen throughout the chocolate box was accomplished by our state-of-the-art printing technology to give an aura of luxury and premium appearance.
To ensure perfect delivery of the complicated artwork in foil stamping, we worked closely with the manufacturer to control the printing accuracy. The result is a luxury chocolate packaging that reflects their brand’s high quality and attention to detail.
How wonderful it is to package nutty chocolates in a box made from nuts? This is the solution we proposed for Loco Love’s nutty selection. This chocolate box was made from Crush paper containing 15% almond residues. Crush is produced with EKOenergy, is GMO free and contains 40% post-consumer recycled waste, resulting in a 20% reduction in carbon footprint. Crush almond paper also has a natural finish with visible nuts residues, creating a special appearance and unique customer unboxing experience.
