Forget traditional single use plastic labels- Forest Film Labels are the world’s first polypropylene film label made from 100% renewable wood-based materials sourced from sustainably managed forests.
This product received the 2020 Innovation in Responsible Sourcing Award from the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. It also uses sustainable resources to replace an equivalent amount of fossil fuels in the production process, making it an International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Plus certified product.
Compared to conventional labels, the carbon footprint reduces emissions up to 66% (UPM Raflatac’s lifestyle assessment study).
How are they produced?
UPM Biofuels converts pulp production residue from sustainably managed forests to UPM BioVerno which is the raw material found in Forest Film. This material is then sent to a resin supplier and then a film supplier to convert it into film material which UPM Raflatac manufactures into Forest Film.
Applications
These labels have a wide range of applications from home, personal care, cosmetics to food and beverage labelling.
They maintain identical quality and performance to conventional plastic labels and are available in both clear and white films.
Reach your sustainability goals and reduce your reliance on fossil fuels without compromising on product performance.
