Foxhole were the first small bar in Sydney to completely remove plastic straws from service and to use disposable coffee cups made of 100% post-consumer recycled paper with compostable lids.

Before Foxhole approached us, they were purchasing non recycled boxes from wholesalers.

We helped to implement the packaging for their ‘At home experience packs’ made from recycled paper and natural fibres such as sugarcane bagasse, bamboo, woodchips etc making it 100% biodegradable and compostable.

In our first sample, we used lavender residue paper to create a paper box with paper inserts made from corn residue. We noticed a difficulty in that the boxes and inserts didn’t protect or support the bottles because of the weight and didn’t give the best functionality or the greatest presentation that we strive for…

So, we decided to introduce our moulded tray inserts made from natural fibres, consisting of 60% sugarcane bagasse and 40% recycled sugar cane bagasse from the manufacturing process.

Our moulded tray inserts and natural fibre boxes together created the perfect protection for their products, allowing Fox Hole to also save shipping and storage costs as they are stackable and eliminating any need for single use plastic wrapping or bubble wrap over the products.

To enhance the presentation of the box we used black foiling to highlight the product name. For the fibres insert we used a natural, smooth finish for a premium look.

For the box material- we used Materica which is an uncoated paperboard material made from environmentally friendly FSC® fibre, recycled pulp and cotton fibre.
